The President of IPDAL, Dr Paulo Neves, participated in the 30th Ibero-American Summit of Heads of State and Government, held on 4 and 5 November in Madrid, Spain, representing the Institute at this important gathering dedicated to political dialogue and multilateral cooperation among Ibero-American countries.
Under the motto “Ibero-America. Together we build our Community. Together we project it towards the future and the world”, the Summit brought together representatives from the 22 countries that make up the Ibero-American Community, providing an opportunity for joint reflection on current challenges and opportunities to strengthen relations across the region.
This year’s agenda focused on strategic areas for Ibero-American development and cooperation, including digital transformation and artificial intelligence, environmental sustainability, disaster risk management, academic mobility and the recognition of qualifications, as well as strengthening cooperation and coordination mechanisms between States.
Among the main outcomes of the meeting were progress on the Ibero-American Artificial Intelligence Alliance, the approval of cooperation instruments in the fields of academic mobility and care, and the establishment of the Ibero-American Network for Disaster Risk Reduction and Civil Protection. The Summit therefore provided an opportunity to renew shared commitments and define new priorities for deeper regional cooperation.
Dr Paulo Neves’ participation in this initiative reflects IPDAL’s mission to promote political, institutional and economic dialogue between Portugal, Latin America and the Caribbean, contributing to closer relations between different stakeholders and the development of new avenues for cooperation across the Ibero-American community.
The Institute’s presence at this gathering reaffirms its commitment to multilateralism, diplomacy and the development of partnerships that foster closer ties between Portugal and the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean.
