The Institute for the Promotion of Latin America and the Caribbean (IPDAL) had the honor of co-organizing the colloquium “Mário Soares and Latin America: Past, Present and Future”, an initiative that brought together experts, diplomats and academics to pay tribute to and reflect on the decisive role of Mário Soares in strengthening ties between Portugal and Latin America.

With this collaboration, IPDAL reaffirms its commitment to deepening political, economic and cultural relations between Portugal and Latin American countries, valuing the legacy of an essential figure in Portuguese diplomacy.

The colloquium provided an opportunity to reflect on the past, but also to jointly project the future of Ibero-American relations, promoting dialogue and cooperation between the two sides of the Atlantic.
