IPDAL, in partnership with the Portuguese Association of European Studies (APEE) and the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung, organized, on February 26, 2025, the round table “Portugal in the World: The role of Portuguese foreign policy and its global positioning”. The event, held in Lisbon, brought together experts and policymakers to discuss the challenges of international politics and Portugal’s position in the new global context.
Among the topics discussed were the evolution of intergovernmental relations in light of President Donald Trump’s second term, the role of the European Union in the continent’s security and the challenges of a changing global economic scenario.
Following the Chatham House Rules methodology, participants were able to debate in an open and constructive manner the possible directions for Portuguese diplomacy. The event ended with a networking moment, reinforcing IPDAL’s commitment to fostering strategic dialogue on Portugal’s role in the world.
