
The President of IPDAL participated in Forum 2000, which was attended by personalities such as Lech Walesa, former President of Poland, Tomas Petricek, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, and Tawakkol Karma, winner of the Nobel Peace Prize in 2011.
The main theme of the international conference, which took place in Prague, turned out to be the great challenges facing Democracy. For Paulo Neves, “parties and institutions face enormous challenges in the future, to counter the new trends of authoritarianism, increasingly common on all continents”.
The President of the Institute defended “strong institutions, the fight against corruption and bad governance, ethical wealth creation, equal opportunities for all citizens and a common Global Agenda, to face the world’s biggest problems, with emphasis on the fight against poverty , through the creation of wealth, and the defense of the environment”.
According to Paulo Neves, “at the center of all policies there must always be the defense of People’s Dignity”.
