António Guterres: “Triangle is a priority”

Portugal’s candidate for Secretary General of the United Nations received a delegation from IPDAL, just a few days before the 5th “Strategic Triangle: Latin America – Europe – Africa” Meeting.

António Guterres accepted the Institute’s invitation to record a video message for the participants of the most important political and business dialogue platform on the Atlantic, in Portugal.

On May 18, 2016, the former Prime Minister declared that the concept worked on by IPDAL since 2012 is a strategic priority for Portugal.

In conversation with the President, the Secretary General and the Deputy Director of the Institute, the former United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees shared his observations and comments on the main themes of the international political scene, particularly Latin America.

The video message was shown as part of the V Meeting “Strategic Triangle: Latin America – Europe – Africa”, an event attended by the President of the Republic of Portugal, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the General Secretary of SEGIB, among others, which took place behind closed doors and exclusively for guests.
