Portuguese government praises IPDAL

At the IPDAL anniversary reception, the Deputy Minister of Parliamentary Affairs highlighted the Institute’s role in improving the relationship between Portugal and Latin America.

Last Friday, January 18th, Miguel Relvas took advantage of the Diplomatic Corps Reception offered by IPDAL, on the occasion of the Institute’s anniversary, to praise the work developed over the last seven years.

At the Literary Grémio, the Secretary of State for Agriculture was also present, as well as ambassadors and diplomatic representatives from several countries in Latin America, Europe, Africa and Asia, deputies and politicians, academics, businesspeople, Friends and partners of IPDAL.

The IPDAL – Vista Alegre Award was awarded to institutions and personalities who, over the course of the previous year, demonstrated a special commitment to bringing Portugal and Latin America closer together.

The honorees were Ambassador António de Almeida Ribeiro, Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Ambassador Jorge Faurie, Ambassador of the Republic of Argentina, at the end of his mission in Portugal; the Real Instituto Elcano, in the person of its President D. Emilio Lamo de Espinosa; o Camões – Institute of Cooperation and Language, in the person of its President Prof. Dr. Ana Paula Laborinho; and Alentejo Tourism, by the hand of President Dr. António Ceia da Silva.
