Initiative organized by the Institute for the Promotion and Development of Latin America (IPDAL) and the Fundación Iberoamericana Empresarial (FIE) will bring together the largest companies in Portugal and Spain.
The “Cascais Ibero-American Meeting” will take place on September 30, 2014. The objective is to identify common interests and objectives between large Portuguese and Spanish companies in Latin America. This initiative will consist of a working lunch, a conference and a formal dinner, where the guest of Honor is the Vice-Prime Minister of Portugal. The Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation will be present at lunch and at the opening of the afternoon proceedings.
The “Cascais Ibero-American Meeting” – organized with the support of Uría Menéndez – Proença de Carvalho and the Cascais City Council – will also feature the Deputy Secretary General of SEGIB, Ambassador Ruy Amaral. For one day, exclusively large Portuguese and Spanish companies will meet to find common challenges, share knowledge and begin to build, together, a more sustained and effective approach to the Latin American and African markets.
Some of the speakers at this initiative are Fernando Pinto, President of TAP; Ambassador António Martins da Cruz, former Minister of Foreign Affairs; Francisco Murteira Nabo, former President of PT and Galp, the Ambassadors of Mexico and Brazil, among other distinguished speakers. Throughout the day, Ambassadors from Iberoamerica will also be present.
Some of the Spanish companies that have already confirmed a trip to Cascais are: Banco Sabadell, CAF, Repsol, Grupo Santander, La Caixa, Mapfre, Iberdrola, Indra, Tecnicas Reunidas and Uría Menéndez. Some of the Portuguese companies that have already confirmed their presence are: BIAL, Cimpor, TAP, Grupo Pestana, Mota-Engil, KPMG, Visabeira, SOFID, Porto de Sines, Rangel, Accenture, Euroatlantic, Travelport.
