The Institute for the Promotion and Development of Latin America (IPDAL) and the Order of Engineers organized on April 27th, at the D. Pedro Palace, in Lisbon, a Forum on “Business Opportunities in construction in Latin America”.

150 companies and entrepreneurs from the areas of construction and public works, construction materials and engineering offices participated. The morning was filled with interventions by the President of IPDAL, Paulo Neves, with the intervention of the President of the Order of Engineers, Fernandando Santo, the President of the EuroAmérica Foundation, Asúncion Valdez, and the diplomatic representatives of 10 Latin American countries in Portugal ( see Program ). In their interventions, the diplomats presented several projects in competition in their respective countries and invited Portuguese companies to compete for their awards. Some interventions are online and can be consulted here . The Minister of Public Works, Mário Lino, spoke at the Conference Lunch. In the afternoon, representatives of national and international banking took the floor: Yann Brenner, from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), Fernando Faria de Oliveira – President of Caixa Geral de Depósitos, José Maria Espírito Santo Ricciardi – President of the Executive Committee of Banco Espírito Santo de Investimento, the World Vice-President of Rol and Berger, António Bernardo and Germán Jaramillo – Corporación Andina de Fomento (CAF).
