A delegation from the Institute congratulated the new representative of the Holy See and dean of the diplomatic corps in Portugal.

The President of IPDAL, Paulo Neves, was accompanied by the President of the General Assembly, João Novais de Paula, the Secretary General, Filipe Domingues, and the Deputy Director, Sofia Vieira.

At the hearing, which took place on December 11, 2019, they talked about the current situation of democracies in the world, about peace diplomacy, about multilateralism and the developing world. The representatives of the Institute also invited the Representative of Pope Francis to participate in IPDAL initiatives.

D. Ivo Scapolo was Apostolic Nuncio in Peru and Chile, having already passed through Lisbon in the late 1980s.
