IPDAL, with the support of the Representation of the European Commission in Portugal, held the conference “EU-CELAC Summit: A triangular analysis”, bringing together some of the main bodies responsible for studying relations between Europe and Latin America, to debate the topics that will be discussed during the EU-CELAC Summit of Heads of State and Government, in July.
The event featured the participation of Sofia Moreira de Sousa, Representative of the European Commission in Portugal, Pablo Garrido, Ambassador of Panama and Dean of Latin American Ambassadors and Marta Betanzos, Ambassador of Spain, with each one presenting the importance of convergence between the two blocks.
This was followed by the presentation of a report by the Real Instituto Elcano on relations between Latin America and Europe, with an analysis of the current situation as well as suggestions on how to deepen cooperation between the two blocs, presented by Carlos Malamud.
The initiative also included the participation of Adrián Bonilla, Executive Director of the EU-LAC Foundation, offering his comments on the importance of the EU-CELAC Summit and MEP José Manuel Fernandes offered his vision on the importance of the agreement with Mercosur.
