Paraguay was the second stop in the cycle of official visits to Latin America by the President of IPDAL.
In Asuncion, Dr. Paulo Neves held a series of meetings with senior officials from the Paraguayan Government and also from the Chamber of Deputies of the Paraguayan Congress, such as the Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs, Raul Silvero, the Vice-President of the Chamber of Deputies , Angel Mariano Paniagua, and the President of the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Affairs, Walter Harms. These meetings discussed issues of bilateral cooperation and development and the Agreement between Mercosur and the European Union.
The President also had meetings with the country’s former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ruben Ramirez Lescano, and two former Paraguayan Ambassadors to Portugal, Luis Fretes and Julio Mineur. The President of IPDAL will also visit Uruguay, the last destination on his visit to Latin America.
